1. Check Engine Oil Regularly. 

Engine Oil level should be checked every week or 15 days (As per your vehicle’s running) and in case of any downfall should be filled up to the level mark. 

If the engine oil level of your vehicle regularly falls below then check your exhaust for smoke and if you find the amount of smoke to be abnormal, consult your mechanic. 

Also, If you have crossed the mark of engine oil change interval it is highly recommended to get it replaced as soon as possible. It is the most important tips to maintain a motorcycle and will save you from major future expenses. 

2. Clean the Air Filter After every 500 Kilometres

The air filter is also an important component of vehicles. A dirty air filter makes the ignition process slower and also reduces the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. 

The air filter should be cleaned after every 500 kilometres. In case you live in a village area or a place where there is more dirt and dust around, cleaning the air filter regularly can not be skipped. 

Air filters are usually located below the seats and in the side panel of the motorcycle. While in the new bikes, it’s located below the seats and petrol tank.

3. Refill the Brake Fluids Regularly

If you have a bike with disc brakes and your brakes have become loose, then visit a mechanic and get your brake fluid refilled. 

Brake fluids should be checked and replaced at every service. This ensures safety for the rider and the passenger. 

4. Check the Coolant level and Refill if required. 

If you have a liquid-cooled bike (Bikes with a radiator ) then you should also check the level of coolant regularly. 

Coolant ensures that the engine temperature does not rise and ensures better life of engine components. 

5. Regularly check the tyre air pressure

If there is low air pressure in the tyres, your bike may vibrate and you may face difficulty in driving. 

Whenever you go to a fuel station to fill the fuel, get your tyre pressure checked then and there for free. 

6. Adjust the clutch and brakes when required

If you find your brakes and clutch loose or tight while riding, get it fixed by a nearby mechanic.

Extra tight brakes can damage the brake drums while the loose or tight clutch can damage the clutch plate.
